Global Mercy
Drawing on feedback from our volunteer crew and decades of experience in the field, Global Mercy is designed to meet the unique needs of our patients and is equipped with world-class medical technology. It is estimated that more than 150,000 lives will be transformed through surgery alone over the life of the ship, and thousands of local doctors, nurses and other medical staff will be trained where we serve.

Patient capacity

Global Mercy houses 102 intensive care beds, 7 ICU/isolation beds, and another 90 self-care beds. The hospital area covers approximately 7,000 square meters and includes dedicated classroom/conference spaces as well as simulator laboratories for more effective training.

The admission and triage room is the first stop potential patients make aboard our ship. There, volunteers evaluate patients to ensure they are candidates for surgery.
