About Us

We use hospital ships to provide first-class healthcare services free of charge, strengthen local healthcare systems and sustainable development in developing countries.

Founded in 1978 by Don and Deyon Stephens, Mercy Ships has worked in over 55 developing countries, providing services worth over 1,530 million euros and treating more than 2.8 million direct beneficiaries.

Our boats are crewed by volunteers from more than 60 countries, with an average of more than 1,200 volunteers each year. The professionals include surgeons, dentists, nurses, healthcare trainers, teachers, seafaring cooks, engineers, and agronomists, who donate their time and skills.

Mercy Ships aims to transform people and serve nations one at a time.
