Since 1978, the Mercy Ships fleet has visited more than 550 ports in 70 different nations around the world. Into an ocean of need, dedicated volunteers representing over 40 nations bring together their wide-ranging skills to make a lasting difference.

Mercy Ships is renovating it´s fleet, and with the Africa Mercy entering in service in June 2007 and the Anastasis retiring, the organization will have retired all it´s older ships. Although the new ship will have 3 times more capacity than all three older ships together.

Because the new ship can only be in one place at the time, Mercy Ships desires to increase it´s fleet to bring hope and healing to places like Central Amerika and Asia and the Pacific were they have had ships serving before. In the mean while Mercy Ships has various land-based proyects in these areas.
